At the heart of our work is a commitment to research that originates within communities — not imposed from the outside. We partner with individuals, practitioners, and organizations already embedded in compromised environments to generate knowledge that is relevant, actionable, and community-owned. Our findings are disseminated through publications and policy engagement designed to drive real, lasting change.

Education equity does not begin at kindergarten — it begins before a child ever walks through a school door. The years before kindergarten are among the most formative in human development, and we cannot afford to keep treating them as optional.
S.P.I.C.E Foundation believes in public schools. Not in abandoning them — in fighting for them. That means restructuring how we fund them, how we support the educators inside them, and how we design them to meet the realities of today's students and families.
Teachers should not be reaching into their own pockets to buy pencils, paper, or books. That is not dedication — that is a system failing the people it depends on most. It ends with investment, not applause.

Restructure Public School Funding
Tying school funding to local property taxes guarantees that the children who need the most receive the least. Equitable funding reform is not radical — it is overdue.

The average teacher spends hundreds of dollars of their own money each year on classroom supplies. Fully funded classrooms and competitive compensation are not perks — they are the baseline.

Keep Students in School
Punitive discipline and zero-tolerance policies push students — disproportionately Black and Brown — out of classrooms and into the justice system. Restorative, trauma-informed approaches keep them in.
